Breeze Booth for iPad 3.4.1 – AI image generation

Breeze Booth for iPad 3.4.1. was released today, linking AI image generation services to the power of Breeze Booth for iPad’s photo booth app.

To create AI  images of your guests use Breeze Booth for iPad’s new post processing feature with a third party AI generation service*

This release also includes an easy to use survey builder.

New Breeze Booth for iPad Survey Builder

Booth’s new survey builder is a fast and simple way to build custom surveys. The following screenshots show how to build a survey with an age gate, autoemail and choice of cartoon style:

Tip: Choose meaningful field names for your surveys.

Special survey tokens are created which can be used in many ways, including

  • separating output into different folders
  • print captions
  • using radio buttons to offer a choice of effect (here Manga, Pop or basic cartoon) by selecting different post processing URLs

The Canon EOS R100 is the best value camera for camera arrays. If you need better image quality from a full frame camera the Canon EOS R8 offers the best value.

The Canon EOS R50 is fine for product photography, but not suitable for camera arrays because it does not have a remote release socket.

Breeze DSLR Remote Pro 3.19.1: Canon EOS R100 support

Breeze Booth (DSLR+Windows) aka DSLR Remote Pro 3.19.1 was released today, June 28th.

This release adds support for Canon’s new EOS R100 camera.

Video post processing now supports vertical video for Canon’s EOS R100 and EOS M50 Mk II.

DSLR Remote Pro 3.19.1 also includes a new token {lessThan,str1,str2}, and fixes an issue loading settings from the Photobooth settings dialog when print layouts include rotated photos

Breeze Booth for iPad 3.4 released

Breeze Booth (iPad+iPhone) 3.4 was released today.

This release updates the tethered shooting support introduced in the last release, and adds time limited photo booth sessions. A new privacy option encrypts guest email addresses and cell phone numbers. We have also added the ability to delete unwanted photos from the gallery.

What cameras can I use?

Breeze Booth (iPad+iPhone) supports iPad and iPhone front and rear facing integral cameras. Alternatively choose from  a huge range of Canon camera models.

At the time of writing (June 2023) we believe the Canon EOS R100, R10, M50 Mk II and M50 are good choices. These are all compact models with Canon’s excellent dual pixel AF with face detect in live view.

Booth supports: Canon EOS R100, R50, R10, R8, R7, R6 Mark II, R6, R5, R3, RP, M50 Mk II, M50, M200, M6 Mark II. Most Canon DSLRs. Canon PowerShot SX70 HS, G5 X Mark II, G7 X Mark III.

Chris’s comments on the EOS R8 and EOS R50

The EOS R8 is a compact, high quality full frame camera with excellent autofocus which is capable of 180fps slow motion video. It’s less expensive and more compact than the Canon EOS R6 Mark II while offering similar autofocus and image quality.

The EOS R50 does not have a center contact on the hotshoe. To use this camera for a photo booth with external flash you need a Canon AD-E1 Multi-Function Shoe Adapter which fits into the hotshoe and provides a hotshoe with a center contact. Please note that this adds to the height of the camera: please ensure there is enough space in your photo booth housing for it to fit.

Breeze DSLR Remote Pro 3.18.2.1 & Photo Booth Expo

DSLR Remote Pro 3.18.2.1 release

DSLR Remote Pro 3.18.2.1 was released today, March 9th. This is a minor update, fixing issues in DSLR Remote Pro 3.18.2 where touchscreen keyboards converted all input to upper case and the program could crash when using SHIFT+Ctrl+left click to save the keyboard settings.

2023 was our busiest Expo for years. Breeze, EventKite and Everybooth shared a stand showcasing Breeze for Windows and Breeze for iPad running on Everybooth’s lovely wooden booths. Images were uploaded to EventKite’s new  microsite and gallery.

Visitors loved  the black and white video and photos taken by DLSR Remote Pro, and were astonished by the power and speed of Breeze for iPad 3.3.

Sharp eyed visitors may have noticed that overlays on both the DSLR Remote Pro and Breeze for iPad images vary, sharing prime position between the three businesses on the stand. Both Breeze for iPad and DSLR Remote Pro include the ability to randomly vary layouts.

Breeze DSLR Remote Pro 3.18.2 released

Breeze Booth (DSLR+Windows) aka DSLR Remote Pro 3.18.2 was released today, February 14th.

This release adds support for Canon’s fabulous new EOS R6 Mark II camera, introduces a watermark over prints displayed in the print confirmation and sharing screens, and the ability to retry failed uploads.

EOS R6 Mark II support

The mirror-less EOS R6 Mark II is a superb camera for high end photo booth operators, especially those offering slow motion and video. The  R6 Mark II comes with

  • 180 frames/second or 120 frames/second slow motion at 1080p
  • Center hotshoe contact allowing external flash to be triggered
  • Class leading face and eye detect autofocus

DSLR Remote Pro already supports Canon’s EOS R10, R7, R6, R5, R and RP models, several M series cameras, and almost all Canon DSLRs.

Watermark on screen copy of prints

We’re getting a lot of interest in using DSLR Remote Pro for pay to print and pay to share booths at fixed installations.

To discourage guests from taking a photo of the booth screen instead of paying for it, DSLR Remote Pro 3.18.2 can watermark prints displayed in both the print confirmation and sharing screens.

The watermark image must be called print_watermark.png  and placed in the photo booth images folder.

Breeze Booth (iPad+iPhone) 3.2 adds direct USB connection to Canon cameras

Breeze are delighted to announce the release of  Breeze Booth (iPad+iPhone) 3.2 today, Wednesday 18th January.  We have also released upgrades to the Breeze companion apps: Event Editor 3.2, Hub 1.2.6.5 and Camera Controller 1.1.4.

Breeze Booth (iPad+iPhone) 3.2 brings you direct USB connection between iPads /iPhones and Canon cameras.

This release also adds the ability to specify the age of photos deleted from the device using Auto Purge at 4am, fixes issues switching between built in cameras using the new iPad 10th Generation, and fixes an issue saving printer filters in Breeze Hub.

Why use  an external camera?

Running an iPad or iPhone booth with a separate Canon DSLR or Mirrorless camera gives you

  • appeal to discerning customers looking for quality
  • better image quality
  • ability to use flash instead of ambient lighting
  • less obtrusive lighting when the booth is not active

Breeze Booth shoots video, stills and GIFs using Canon cameras or cameras built into the device in both landscape and portrait.

How easy is it to switch between the iPad camera and a external camera?

Very simple. You switch between internal and external camera in the Breeze Booth app.

  1. Connect your camera to the device running Booth
  2. Switch on the camera
  3. Start the Breeze Booth App, select Camera  from the Home page, and switch on External Camera.

Connecting the camera

Connect the camera to the iPad/iPhone with a USB connection. It’s best to have a charging port so you can charge the iPad/iPhone at the same time.

Devices with USB C connection

We recommend using a USB C hub with a USB C charging port so you can charge the device and connect to the camera simultaneously.

You can connect devices with USB C connectors directly to the camera, but won’t be able to charge the device at the same time.

Devices with lightning connector

For older devices with lightning connectors, you need a lightning to USB adaptor. We recommend the lightning to USB adaptor has a lightning charging port so you can charge the device and connect to the camera simultaneously.

Do I still need the Breeze Booth camera controller to use a Canon camera with Breeze Booth (iPad+iPhone)?

There’s no need to use the old Windows or Raspberry Pi Camera Controller to connect to an external camera.
